The book deals about this lady called Menley, who lost her baby boy Bobby in tragic train accident. She moves town her family after her new born baby is born to Cape Cod, but her previous tragedy doesn't let go of her. She is haunted constantly with the train sounds only she can hear along with her son's voice calling out for her. This puts not only a physical strain on her...but on her relationship too with her husband. Is she really going mad? or is there more to count for in the house that she lives in.

Imagine my state reading this book around mid night....and the worst my house is located to the railway tracks...as luck can have it when ever Manley hears the train sounds in the book...a train passes through the tracks near by...truly spooky..
